We invited Meri several days a week, sometimes for a weekend. I found her kind, responsible, attentive, very warm. She looked after my daughter 3y.o. She literally enveloped the children with care and affection, played with them in an interesting way and cooked with them. I strongly recommend Meri as a very responsive and excellent nanny.

Mari worked for me last summer, I found her by recommendation of friends, she helped me in the evenings for 3 hours. Very reliable, responsible, positive, kind girl, she played with my daughter, sculpted, drew. Helped me around the house, did everything even i have not asked. She also loves dogs, especially golden retriever. We had a very interesting time, we cooked together. Sometimes I would have her over on Saturdays and we would spend time together, cooked barbecue, it was a lot of fun with Meri and my 3 years old daughter loves her now we are missing her. We broke up with her because she went abroad.

First things first – message the prospective babysitter or nanny about any past childcare experience they may have, and ask about references from prior families. Then you can check in with the other parents to see what their impression was of the sitter.

In order to come up with an appropriate rate, you should first take into account the minimum wage for your area. Then, you might consider offering a higher rate of pay to keep things fair if you’re asking for any help with things like tutoring or chores around the house - or if you know your kids can be a handful for even the most patient of sitters!
